The Mermaid Show, a stunning underwater fantasy has been holding huge crowds spellbound around the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, at The Dubai Mall, which is hosting this one-of-a-kind “Summer is Dubai’ event until the 7th September.
Being held in Dubai for the first time, The Mermaid Show is performed by highly talented artistes including some Olympic synchronized swimming medalists, who have mustered all their artistry and experience for an astonishing act alongside the denizens of the deep that are residing in the mall’s 10-million litre Dubai Aquarium tank, the largest suspended aquarium in the world.
Families have been thronging the venue to see the thrice daily shows at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm featuring live mermaids swimming with sea creatures in an exotic marine environment that houses thousands of aquatic animals, comprising over 140 species including over 400 Sharks and Rays.
The Mermaid Show gives the audience a chance to escape from their ordinary lives and be mesmerized by an underwater fantasy story told through mermaids and mermens. These talented performers swim to a perfectly choreographed show directed and choreographed by former USA Olympic head coach for the USA synchronized swim team, Stephan Miermont, who was the main character in the world famous ‘O’ show from Cirque du Soleil for 5 years. She also choreographed a highly acclaimed water event for Cirque du Soleil.
The Mermaid Show is part of the diverse range of entertainment that is being offered by “Summer is Dubai”, a 3-month long campaign organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) to help position Dubai as the summer destination of choice for residents, families and visitors from around the world.
